The After School Academy at the MLK is a quality and affordable ($85 per week) after school program for Newport County students ranging from kindergarten to 4th grade.

Department of Human Service (“DHS”) childcare subsidies are accepted. Scholarships are available for families with demonstrated need. All are encouraged to apply.

Upon arrival, the children are offered:

• a healthy snack
• homework help
• art lessons
• violin lessons with the Newport String Project
• theater experience
• singing with Newport County Youth Chorus
• nutrition classes
• STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) programming
• & more special programming!

The MLK Center has Spanish-speaking teachers and welcomes multilingual learners.
